Returns and Refunds Policy
Last updated 2026-08-29
The short version
Every CubFable book is written, illustrated and printed for one named child after you order it, so there is no second copy of it and nobody else it could be sold to. That means we cannot take a book back because you changed your mind. It also means that if the book that arrives is damaged, misprinted or not the book you ordered, we replace it free or refund you in full, and you do not have to post anything back.
Made-to-order books are not returnable
Under EU and Irish consumer law the 14-day cooling-off right does not apply to goods that are made to your specification or are clearly personalised. A CubFable storybook carries your child's name, their likeness in the illustrations and the story details you chose, so it falls within that exception. Once a book has been generated it cannot be cancelled, returned or exchanged for a change of mind.
If something is wrong with your book
Contact us within 30 days of delivery and we will put it right at no cost to you. That covers a book that arrives damaged in the post, a printing or binding fault, pages that are missing or out of order, the wrong book arriving, and a parcel that is never delivered. Send us your order number and, for anything visible, a photo of the problem: a photo is faster than a return and it is all we need. We will reprint and repost the book, or refund you in full, whichever you prefer.
How to reach us
Email [email protected] with your order number and what went wrong. We answer every message, and we aim to do it within two working days. There is no form to fill in and no returns label to request.
Refunds
An approved refund goes back to the card or payment method you paid with, for the full amount you paid including delivery. Your bank usually shows it within five to ten working days of us issuing it. You keep the book; sending a personalised book back to us serves no purpose, so we never ask for it.
Before your book is printed
Books written from your own idea pause after the story is written so you can read it before anything is illustrated. If it is not what you wanted, that is the moment to say so: you can correct your request there, for free, rather than waiting for a printed book you do not want. If you need to cancel an order entirely, contact us straight away. If we reach it before generation has started, we refund it in full.
Orders we cancel
If we cannot make a book you have paid for, for any reason, we refund it in full. That includes an order we decline on the acceptable-use grounds set out in our Terms.
Your statutory rights
Nothing here limits your rights under the Irish Consumer Rights Act 2022, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 for orders delivered in the United Kingdom, or the consumer law of the country your book is delivered to. Goods must be as described and of satisfactory quality, and those rights stand whatever this page says.
